Job summary

Actalent seeks a Systems Validation Engineer to support on-board platforms by developing system requirements, integrating embedded electronics, and conducting comprehensive testing and validation. You will write clear documentation, work with project managers and engineers, and ensure delivered systems meet specifications.

The role involves hands-on lab work and field testing on machines and trucks, using Linux/Windows tools, Debuggers, and radar test equipment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in systems, software testing, validation, or related engineering roles.
• Proficiency in C for embedded or systems-level development.
• Experience with embedded electronics software integration and testing.
• Strong system validation with detailed test plans and procedures.
• Clear bug reports and defect documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop clear, detailed system requirements for on-board systems and apps.
• Participate in system design reviews to improve architecture.
• Support integration of embedded systems and software onto machines and trucks.
• Perform system and integration testing in lab and on actual machines.
• Execute embedded software integration and testing activities for hardware/software interaction.
• Validate project deliverables meet requirements.
• Create, execute, and maintain test procedures and plans.
• Identify and track software and system defects with reproducible bug reports.
• Troubleshoot defects to isolate root causes and verify fixes.
• Perform radar coverage mapping to verify sensor performance.
• Collect and plot radar data for validation and performance assessment.
• Build radar boxes, lab harnesses, and related test fixtures.
• Maintain lab inventory for testing and integration.
• Collaborate with managers, engineers, and architects daily.
• Document results and recommendations for engineering teams.
