Job summary

Cisco is seeking a Software Engineer Embedded Systems II to design, develop, and optimize high‑performance embedded software and low‑level platform features for mission‑critical devices. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to build drivers, kernels, and hardware interfaces, while advancing test automation in modern CI/CD pipelines.

Ideal candidates have strong C/C++ skills, embedded Linux/RTOS experience, OS concepts knowledge, and hands‑on experience with debugging tools such as

Qualifications

Master's degree with 0 years of work experience or a Bachelor's with 2 years of work experience.
Education/work in CS, CE, EE, or software engineering as relevant.
Strong proficiency in C/C++ systems programming.
Experience with embedded Linux/RTOS/POSIX environments.
Understanding of OS concepts, multithreading, memory management.
Familiarity with Linux workflows, debugging tools (GDB/Valgrind) and Git.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and optimize high‑performance embedded software.
Build device drivers, kernel components, and hardware interfaces.
Develop test automation and diagnostic tools in Python and CI/CD pipelines.
Diagnose platform issues, optimize memory/CPU, support production triage.
Deliver resilient embedded software across the software lifecycle.
