Job summary

Meta seeks a Software Engineer to join our embedded engineering team, building low-level firmware for consumer hardware. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, delivering reliable embedded systems within tight resource constraints and across the full development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with hardware engineers and silicon teams to design interfaces, optimize power and memory, and contribute to production observability with tests, logging, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded firmware or low-level software experience in C/C++.
• Experience with RTOS, bare-metal or embedded Linux.
• Experience with device drivers or hardware abstraction layers.
• Experience writing automated tests and debugging tools (JTAG, scopes).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for resource-constrained hardware.
• Develop device drivers and HALs for microcontrollers or SoCs.
• Configure RTOS to meet latency, power, memory requirements.
• Write automated tests and perform hardware-in-the-loop tests.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and product teams.
