Job summary

Stony Brook University is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to provide technical and operational support for the Embedded Systems Design Laboratory and IoT teaching labs. You will install, upgrade, and repair lab equipment, supervise student staff, and manage software licenses to ensure access from multiple workstations.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) and three years of full-time related experience in instructional, lab, or training environments; or Bachelor's degree with two years of related experience.
  • Experience working with students, teaching assistants, or technical staff in instructional/lab settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and operational support for Embedded Systems Design Laboratory (ESDL) and Digital Systems Rapid Prototyping Laboratory (DSRPL).
  • Install, upgrade, maintain, and repair equipment and devices in the facilities.
  • Support IoT course laboratories and IoT equipment maintenance.
  • Supervise graduate and undergraduate students, teaching assistants, and student assistants in lab activities.
  • Manage software licenses server and ensure access from workstations in ESDL/DSRPL.
  • Oversee lab purchasing, inventory, ABET budget, and lab fee accounts.
