Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking an Electrical Engineering Assistant for the CVS Division. The student will work with experienced engineers on development, assembly, integration, and testing of mission hardware, including embedded Linux systems and hardware/software integration.

Qualifications

Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain/maintain US Government clearance.
Must be enrolled at Utah State University pursuing an electrical engineering or related degree.
At least one year remaining in school.
Available to work 15–20 hours/week during semesters and up to 40 hours/week in summer.
Able to work independently and in a team, with strong written and verbal communication.
Experience with Python or coursework involving Python programming.
Experience using Linux environments and basic command-line tools.

Responsibilities

Support Linux-based embedded systems and hardware/software integration, including configuration, testing, networking, and interfacing with embedded devices.
Develop Python scripts for data processing, testing, and visualization.
Assist engineers with circuit design, hardware assembly, integration, and testing.
Troubleshoot electrical hardware and laboratory test setups.
Support documentation, parts tracking, test records, and configuration management.
Participate in engineering reviews, lab testing, and system integration activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentors, communicating progress and results.
Perform other assigned tasks.
