Job summary

Blue Arrow is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Pittsburgh to design, optimize, and integrate firmware for embedded devices. You’ll push robustness from prototype to production, implementing low-level drivers, and integrating sensors for reliable data capture in real-world missions.

You'll work with C++ and Python on STM32-based systems, contribute to robotics stacks (ROS/ROS 2, MAVLink), and collaborate closely with customers and partners to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on firmware development experience for embedded systems.
• Proficiency with C++ and Python.
• Solid experience with STM32 ecosystem, drivers.
• Experience in robotics and real-time troubleshooting.
• Experience with custom wire harnessing.
• Comfortable with Linux tools for dev/test.
• Strong attention to detail and reproducible tests.
• Collaborative and empathetic team player.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain firmware for embedded devices from prototype to production.
• Implement low-level drivers and hardware interfaces.
• Integrate sensors (IMU/cameras/time-sync) and ensure reliable data acquisition and logging.
• Debug and test embedded systems in lab and field conditions; perform root-cause analysis.
• Create and maintain integration documentation and customer support materials.
• Support customer trials and qualification testing, including onsite/remote support.
• Translate customer feedback into technical requirements for the product roadmap.
