Job summary

Carnegie Robotics is seeking an embedded software engineer to own software for robotics components and systems. You will write robust C/C++ code, integrate sensors, and optimize real-time software in a hands-on robotics environment.

The role emphasizes Linux-based development, RTOS exposure, and Git, with opportunities to work on NVIDIA Jetson, IMX8, and STM32 platforms. Health coverage, 401(k) matching, daily catering, and generous PTO are provided.

Qualifications

Experience with embedded software for robotics or real-time systems.
Strong knowledge of C/C++ and Linux-based development.
Familiarity with version control (Git) and debugging tools.

Experience integrating sensors and hardware components in embedded environments.

Responsibilities

Create software for robotics components and systems, including C/C++ code and interfaces.
Test software in lab environments, simulations, and on robots.
Analyze system performance from data logs and post-processing scripts.
Troubleshoot hardware-software interactions on embedded targets.
Develop software specifications and participate in design/code reviews.
Work with sensors and buses like i2c, SPI, CAN.
Integrate various sensors, actuators, and computing platforms into robots.
Document software using industry best practices and export control guidelines.
