Job summary

Nudena L.L.C. seeks an Embedded and Interactive Systems Engineer for a paid, project-based independent contractor role.

You will bridge software and hardware, focusing on microcontrollers, networked devices, timing, calibration, logging, and recovery across evolving prototypes and production-ready systems. You will define architectures, review firmware and APIs, integrate sensors and actuators, and build bench tools for verification while documenting configurations, dependencies, and limitations

Qualifications

• Five or more years in embedded systems, interactive hardware, controls software, IoT, robotics, or comparable integration work.
• Strong experience with hardware communications, real-time behavior, debugging, and instrumentation.
• Evidence of shipping or deploying systems beyond a laptop-only environment.
• Maintainable code and practical documentation for the engineers and technicians who come next.
• Comfort working with incomplete prototypes and cross-discipline constraints.

Responsibilities

• Define the software and communications architecture connecting application events to device commands and feedback.
• Implement or review firmware, control services, APIs, protocols, state machines, timing, calibration, and logging.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, relays, controllers, local computing, or interactive applications as the project requires.
• Build bench test tools and simulated interfaces so subsystems can be verified before full assembly.
• Document dependencies, setup, configuration, versioning, diagnostics, and known limitations.
• Work with electrical and systems leads on safe states, latency targets, and integrated verification.
