Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking an Electrical/Embedded Engineer II to design, develop, integrate, and support advanced electronic systems used in scientific imaging, microscope systems, and research instrumentation.

You will bridge hardware and low-level software, owning modules from concept through validation and production, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, manufacturable products in a lean environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field is required.
• Strong embedded firmware development experience in C/C++.
• Design low-noise analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for precision instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronics for precision scientific instruments and imaging systems.
• Develop embedded firmware and hardware abstraction layers for microcontrollers.
• Own electrical designs from concept through schematic capture, PCB layout, prototype validation, debugging, and production release.
• Develop test fixtures and production test plans for manufacturing.
