Job summary

Raytheon’s Electro-Optics Department seeks an Opto-Mechanical Engineer II to design and integrate precision opto-mechanical subsystems for infrared and visible imaging systems. The role focuses on reliable hardware that transitions smoothly from development to production.

You will collaborate with optics, structures, thermal, electronics, and systems teams to build robust mechanical architectures enabling high-performance imaging solutions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in STEM required.
• Experience with 3D CAD (Creo) for precision assemblies.
• GD&T per ANSI Y14.5 knowledge.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept development, detailed design, and documentation of opto-mechanical assemblies using Creo (Pro/E).
• Design precision structures, mounts, housings, and mechanisms supporting imaging sensors.
• Perform tolerance analysis and apply GD&T to ensure manufacturability and performance.
• Support structural and thermal analyses (including FEA) to validate designs.
• Participate in hardware integration, verification, and environmental test activities.
• Support transition to production with supplier collaboration and corrective actions.
