Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. in Groton, CT is seeking engineers to contribute to the design, construction, and maintenance of state-of-the-art submarines for the U.S. Navy.

You will join the D379 Project Engineering Team, collaborating closely with operations to plan, prepare, and execute ship construction on the Columbia Program. Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science or higher in mechanical, civil, chemical, aerospace, marine, or electrical engineering
• 0-5 Years of post graduate engineering experience
• Experience with ship design or shipyard environments is desirable

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining a strong working relationship with the trade group and trade supervision (General Foreman) assigned
• Enabling the General Foreman to maximize time planning and preparing trades and trades supervision for upcoming work by learning design disclosures, technical work documents, work orders, and shipyard processes
• Identifying problems with work packages and initiating timely corrective actions to enable operations to execute deckplate work
• Communicating operations priorities with the assigned Module Lead and other organizations as required
• Minimizing production problems by ensuring operations understands critical aspects of upcoming work
• Supporting trades during their work day, which may include extended hours and occasional weekend support
