General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an experienced Construction Support Engineer to support COLUMBIA Class construction, testing, and delivery. You will provide engineering oversight to trades, interpret drawings, and coordinate with design and operations to ensure safe, timely construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural, Civil or Marine Engineering.
• 5+ years of discipline specific post graduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher is required.
• Prior deck plate construction experience is highly desirable.

Responsabilités

• Provide engineering oversight and assistance to trade personnel.
• Evaluate emergent shipyard issues and develop technically acceptable resolutions.
• Interpret design, drawing, and specification requirements.
• Provide direction and evaluation to Groton trades via disposition of CNs and TIR UNSATs.
• Support final assembly, test, certification, and delivery activities for COLUMBIA Class.
• Provide surveillance of manufacturing, inspection, and testing of material in the Groton shipyard.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering evaluations.
• Facilitate implementation of the design, lessons learned, and process improvements.
• Facilitate discipline-specific knowledge transfer to the construction support engineering team.
• Coordinate engagement of design and engineering SMEs in the construction sequence.
