Job summary

Insight Global in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to develop and bring-up prototype hardware, including device drivers and diagnostic software. You will work closely with hardware and ASIC teams to exercise datapaths and support manufacturing use of software.

You will also implement and support nightly builds and regression of diagnostics images on hardware, bringing up Ethernet PHYs, SFPs, and related components as part of product readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE, CE, CS or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional embedded software development experience.
• Experience with device drivers, low-level hardware interfaces, firmware, or diagnostics.
• Hands-on hardware bring-up in a lab environment.
• Experience with Ethernet PHYs, optics/SFPs, and/or PCIe.
• Ability to read schematics, datasheets and ASIC docs.
• Hands-on with debugging tools: oscilloscope, logic analyzers, JTAG, protocol analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Develop device drivers and software to bring-up prototype hardware.
• Exercise datapaths and support Device Verification Testing using the diagnostic software.
• Support nightly build and regression of diagnostics images on hardware.
• Bring-up Ethernet PHY, SFPs, board power, switching ASICs, PoE and other components.
