Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Technologies team in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego area. You will contribute to embedded systems, high-power motor drives, and advanced sensors in a fast-paced R&D environment.

The role requires a strong background in embedded systems, FPGA/MPSoC, and a range of tools including Xilinx Vivado/Vitis and LabVIEW. This is a fully onsite position with 9/80 work schedule and exceptional collaboration with senior staff.

Qualifications

• Embedded systems development (processor, microcontroller, FPGA, MPSoC) experience essential.
• Mixed-signal circuit design (analog/digital) required.
• Experience with hardware systems including digital, analog, RF, optical is required.
• Knowledge of DoD review processes (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) desirable.

A client in the San Diego Area is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Electrical Technologies team located in Rancho Bernardo. We are looking for someone with drive, talent, and experience in Embedded Systems and Controls who also thrives in a fast-paced, Research and Development (R&D) environment. The successful candidate will report to the Sr. Manager of High-Speed Digital and, alongside high-caliber staff, will be engaged in the engineering support and new development of high-power motor drives, power conditioning systems, high-energy laser systems, advanced aerospace and electro-optic sensors, space-based optical communications, nuclear thermal propulsion, cutting-edge technology ventures into Defense and “NewSpace,” and a variety of disruptive technologies. THis is fully onsite working 9/80.

Skills and Requirements

• Eligible to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance
• -Bachelor's Degree with 12 years’ total professional work experience, Master's Degree with 10 years’ total professional work experience, PHD with 7 years total professional work experience
• -Required Experience: Embedded systems development (processor, microcontroller, FPGA, and MPSoC); mixed-signal circuit design (analog/digital); analysis, design, and implementation of hardware systems to include digital, analog, RF, and optical is required.
• -Desirable Experience: Embedded Systems development for complex, high-performance system-of-systems; embedded systems architecture and project development for Xilinx and/or Microsemi devices including Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoCs and/or SmartFusion2 SoCs; VxWorks implemented on custom, high-requirement hardware; distributed, embedded Linux environments; National Instruments Labview instrumentation and controls development on cRIO devices, including FPGA-level, CPU/RTOS-level, and client-side GUI; familiarity with DoD technical review process (at a minimum: SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
• -Desired Skills: Experience with Xilinx Vivado Design Suite, Xilinx Vitis Unified Software Platform, Microsemi Libero SoC Design Suite, bare-metal C-code programming, VxWorks, Linux, Buildroot, National Instruments LabVIEW, VHDL, C/C++, PADS or Altium PCB Design Software, Atlassian Tool Suite, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and Powerpoint.
• -Demonstrate technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.
