Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Linthicum, MD is seeking an Embedded Space Software Engineering Manager to lead a matrixed team through the full software lifecycle, from design to test, on-site with a 9/80 schedule. The role includes Agile leadership, staffing, and proposals, with security clearance requirements and potential relocation assistance.

You will drive software development for embedded real-time systems using C++ or Python, coordinate budgets and schedules, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field with 3–5+ years of embedded real-time software experience.
Experience obtaining/maintaining U.S. Government TS/SCI with accessible clearance; US citizenship required.
Proficiency in C++ or Python for embedded software work.
Experience leading a software development team and directing team members.

Responsibilities

Provide technical oversight of software lifecycle from design through test and maintenance.
Lead a matrixed team with focus on agile practices, career development, and performance appraisals.
Contribute to proposals, staffing, and execution of software projects.
Ensure adherence to standards, processes, and tools across SDLC.
Coordinate budgets and schedules as a CAM and IPT lead.
