Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) is seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Supervisor to lead a team developing firmware for energy and motive power systems, including Battery Management Systems and energy management platforms. You will mentor engineers and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, controls, and systems teams to deliver reliable products from concept through production.

You’ll oversee software quality, design reusable components, and guide development approaches

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of embedded software or firmware development experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for resource‑constrained embedded systems using bare‑metal and RTOS.
• Experience developing software for battery management, energy storage, power electronics, motor controls, or similar Embedded applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of embedded software engineers while overseeing project priorities, deliverables, and software quality.
• Design and implement embedded firmware in C/C++ for BMS, energy management systems, and related products using RTOS and bare‑metal architectures.
• Build reusable software components that support multiple embedded platforms.
• Review software architecture, code, and designs and provide guidance on development approaches.
• Partner with electrical, mechanical, controls, and systems engineers to integrate software with hardware.
• Support products from concept through production and ongoing enhancements.
