Job summary

Rivian Automotive is offering an internship in Palo Alto for students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant field. You will develop embedded software for Rivian's autonomy platform, focusing on real-time RTOS applications and safety-critical components.

The role requires experience in C, ARM-based microcontrollers, and knowledge of Zephyr or FreeRTOS. The program runs Jan-Aug 2027 with no visa sponsorship, and includes health benefits and paid time off as described.

Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at an accredited university.
• Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in C programming language.
• Knowledge of ARM microcontrollers/microprocessors or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems like FreeRTOS or Zephyr.

Responsibilities

• Implement and modify embedded software written in C programming language.
• Implement Functional Safety related requirements for embedded software.
• Develop Python based test scripts to validate the embedded software changes.
• Develop and modify device drivers for Zephyr RTOS.
