Job summary

MaxLinear is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of software and firmware engineers developing embedded solutions for communication and networking products. You will drive lifecycle activities from architecture through release, and collaborate with DSP, ASIC, Hardware, Validation, and PM teams to deliver projects on aggressive schedules.

In this role you will own planning, risk mitigation, and provide career guidance while promoting accountability, innovation, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Strong embedded software/firmware experience for telecom or related products.
• Deep understanding of DSP-based SoC architectures and embedded systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded environments with RTOS.
• Experience with multi-core processors and hardware/software integration.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and deliver on schedules.
• Ability to influence technical direction in a cross-functional setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software and firmware engineers developing embedded solutions.
• Drive software development across the product lifecycle from architecture to release.
• Collaborate with DSP, ASIC, Hardware, Validation, and PM teams to resolve issues.
• Lead software bring-up for silicon, FPGA/emulation platforms, and hardware prototypes.
• Drive root-cause analysis for complex system-level issues across domains.
• Own project planning, execution tracking, schedule management, and risk mitigation.
• Ensure software deliverables meet quality, performance, reliability, and schedule objectives.
• Review architecture, code quality, and test strategies; guide requirements and tests.
