Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking Summer 2027 interns to design embedded software for satellite communication systems. You will work with engineers on low-level and high-level software across space electronics products, including microcontroller programming, BSPs, and end-use applications.

Ideal candidates are pursuing BS/MS/PhD in CS/EE/CE, have strong C/C++ skills, and a GPA of 3.5+, with excellent written and verbal communication. Familiarity with real-time Linux and multi-threaded systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C or C++ for embedded environments.
• Experience with embedded systems design and RT Linux.
• GPA 3.5+ from an accredited university.
• Able to read schematics and component data sheets.

Responsibilities

• Design embedded software for satellite communication systems.
• Collaborate with CesiumAstro engineers on low- and high-level software.
• Present work to peers, mentors, and leadership during the internship.

Job description

• The CesiumAstro software team is looking for Summer 2027 interns to design embedded software for satellite communication systems
• Embedded software development interns will work closely with CesiumAstro engineers on low-level and high-level software in CesiumAstro’s space electronics products. Areas of focus will include microcontroller programming, low-level drivers, board support packages (BSP), end-use applications, and user interfaces. Assignments will be determined by a mix of project availability and the interests of the successful candidates
• Cesium interns regularly present their work to peers, mentors, and CesiumAstro executive leadership throughout the course of the summer. As such, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
