Job summary

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. As a Software Development Engineer II on the Leo Customer Terminal Application and Networking Team, you will design and build on-device software that runs on customer terminals deployed in the field and work with hardware, firmware, networking, and cloud teams.

You will own features end to end — from design to launch — and improve the speed and reliability of the customer’s terminal connectivity, while diagnosing and resolving issues

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, embedded or distributed software applications
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Experience programming in languages such as C++, Java, Python
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math or related field

Responsibilities

• Improve speed and reliability of the customer's internet connection on the terminal.
• Build software to detect and resolve issues remotely, reducing on-site visits.
• Deliver device health and diagnostics data from the fleet for visibility.
• Own features end to end from design through testing and deployment on live hardware.
• Debug complex issues spanning hardware, software, and cloud, scaling production fleet.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, networking, and cloud teams to meet quality and performance goals.
