Job summary

SEAKR Engineering, Inc. in Colorado Springs/near Centennial is seeking a mid-level Embedded Software Engineer to own feature development in embedded C/C++ for space-grade systems, with strong OS concepts and networking basics.

You will work on constrained hardware with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. The role is primarily onsite with some hybrid flexibility and offers a competitive base salary, rich health benefits, and a generous 401(k) plan, plus a year-end bonus and paid

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional experience in embedded systems development.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Solid understanding of fundamental OS concepts (kernel vs. user space, task scheduling, memory management, synchronization).
• Proficiency in Python, C and/or C++, including object-oriented principles.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, MAC addresses and packet inspection tools.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently.
• Proven track record of learning from specification documents and adapting to new protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software using C/C++ within constrained environments, defining technical approaches.
• Implement state machines and handle asynchronous events (interrupts, signals).
• Work with OS concepts including process scheduling, resource sharing, and synchronization.
• Integrate networking capabilities into embedded devices (basic IP/MAC layer knowledge).
