Job summary

SEAKR Engineering, Inc. in Colorado Springs/near Centennial is seeking a mid-level Embedded Software Engineer to own feature development in embedded C/C++ for space-grade systems, with strong OS concepts and networking basics.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional experience in embedded systems development.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Solid understanding of fundamental OS concepts (kernel vs. user space, task scheduling, memory management, synchronization).
• Proficiency in Python, C and/or C++, including object-oriented principles.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, MAC addresses and packet inspection tools.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently.
• Proven track record of learning from specification documents and adapting to new protocols.

We are seeking a highly engaged mid-level Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. This role offers a fast-paced environment where you will take ownership of feature development and work with minimal supervision on critical projects. We are looking for individuals with strong technical fundamentals in low-level systems programming who are eager to learn our product deeply and play a key role in system integration. This position requires working primarily onsite with some hybrid flexibility.

• Implement state machines and handle asynchronous events (e.g., interrupts, signals).
• Work with operating system concepts including process scheduling, resource sharing, and synchronization.
• Integrate networking capabilities into embedded devices (basic IP/MAC layer knowledge required).

Additional Information

Compensation: Base salary range is $100,000-135,000/year, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
