Job summary

Northrop Grumman is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer in Rolling Meadows, IL to design, develop, and maintain embedded software for mission-critical systems. You will work in a team using model-based engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices to deliver software across the lifecycle.

The role requires a Bachelor's or higher in CS/CE, at least 2 years of engineering experience, strong C++ OO programming, and experience with Linux or VxWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar with 2+ years of experience, or Master’s with related experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming in C++ and knowledge of design patterns.
• Experience with Linux or VxWorks and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub) and Agile planning tools (Jira, Rally).
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software and firmware for RF/defense systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet requirements and schedules.
• Apply engineering standards and lifecycle processes from concept through integration.
