Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector seeks an Embedded Software Engineer at the Redondo Beach, CA site. The role requires design, development and integration of embedded real-time software within a diverse engineering team

The candidate will collaborate across systems engineering, hardware and test teams in an Agile lab environment, tackling complex real-time challenges with C/C++ and Java.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of software development experience or Master's with 3+ years or PhD with 1+ year
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required at the time of application
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming in embedded environments (VxWorks/RTOS) and Java
• Proficiency in Object Oriented programming and embedded real-time systems
• Experience integrating low-level firmware and software in complex real-time systems

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, integrate, test, and debug software solutions for end-user customers
• Support architecture, development, and lifecycle management of embedded and real-time systems
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Hardware, and Integration & Test in an Agile environment
• Analyze system capabilities to troubleshoot program intent and data acquisition
• Work in a fast-paced lab with rapid development
