Russell Tobin is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Indianapolis, IN to design, develop, and maintain software that runs directly on hardware. You will collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize embedded systems performance and ensure seamless integration.

The role emphasizes hands-on firmware development, low-power techniques, and experience with wireless protocols such as Z-Wave or sub-GHz, with a focus on robust bootloaders and secure updates.

Qualifications

• Embedded C is mandatory and used across bare-metal and RTOS firmware.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers (Cortex-M33).
• Strong understanding of interrupt-driven architectures and peripheral interfaces (DMA, timers, GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C).
• Proficiency with debugging tools (J-Link/SWD/GDB) and OTA firmware update processes.

Pay Range: $50/hr -$70/hr on W2 (DOE)

Description

The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software that operates directly on hardware systems. This role involves working closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of embedded systems.

Ideal Candidate Profile
