Job summary

Russell Tobin is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software that runs directly on hardware, in collaboration with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.

Ideal candidates have strong Embedded C on ARM Cortex-M and hands-on wireless/Z-Wave development, with experience in bare-metal/RTOS firmware and robust bootloaders and OTA systems.

Qualifications

• Embedded C with ARM Cortex-M experience and hands-on wireless development.
• Experience with bare-metal and RTOS firmware and interrupt-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with Z-Wave and related wireless protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software that runs directly on hardware.
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to ensure proper integration and performance.
• Develop and maintain bootloaders, OTA/update mechanisms, and secure pairing.

Job description

The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software that operates directly on hardware systems. This role involves working closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of embedded systems.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Look for an Embedded Firmware Engineer with strong C + ARM Cortex-M experience and hands-on wireless/Z-Wave development, rather than a general embedded developer. Silicon Labs/EFR32 experience would be a major advantage.
