Job summary

FastTek Global is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer III in Towson, MD. The role is hybrid and focuses on firmware for power tools, including motor controls and battery management.

You will implement, test, and validate designs and contribute to cross-functional teams while maintaining thorough documentation. You should have a BSEE/BSCS/BSCE and 3+ years of embedded C development for various MCUs, with RTOS experience and familiarity with motor-control techniques.

Qualifications

• Requires a BSEE, BSCS, BSCE, or equivalent four-year degree.
• 3+ years of embedded software development experience for consumer/industrial products.
• Proficiency in C for 8-, 16-, and 32-bit MCUs.
• ARM architectures preferred.
• Experience with microcontroller peripherals (timers, GPIO, watchdog, ADC, UART, DMA).
• Strong RTOS knowledge, real-time processing and multitasking concepts.
• Familiarity with software development processes and controls.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop firmware for power tools including motor controls and battery management systems.
• Implement and validate electronic designs via software development, testing, and simulation.
• Develop verification and validation procedures using unit and integration tests.
• Provide leadership to achieve cost, performance, and quality objectives of electronic systems.
• Develop solutions for electronic system issues as part of a larger team.
• Maintain documentation for work performed and translate customer requirements into software specs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and interface with overseas contract manufacturers as needed.
• Manage multiple objectives concurrently.
