Job summary

Innova Solutions is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer in Salt Lake City, UT for a client project. The role focuses on real-time embedded systems, requiring C++ expertise and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Onsite, full-time with a 12-month contract.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software, collaborate with a cross-functional team, and work across Linux, VxWorks, and Windows environments while interfacing with hardware drivers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient with object-oriented C++.
• Experience with embedded software design.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; active clearance preferred.

Job description

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for an Embedded Software Engineer. Position Type: Full-Time, Contract Duration: 12 months Location: Salt Lake City, UT 84116 (Onsite)

The qualified candidate will have exciting, challenging, and rewarding opportunities to support existing systems and develop next‑generation military communications.

• Contribute to the lifecycle of embedded real‑time systems by designing, coding, testing, debugging, and updating developmental and fielded systems
• Maintain and review requirements, design documentation, and source code
• Collaborate with a cross‑functional engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
• Proficient with object‑oriented C++
• Experience with embedded software design.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; active clearance preferred

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience in one of more of the following areas below:

• Experience developing for Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
• Experience troubleshooting on embedded targets
• Experience with test frameworks
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review techniques
• Exposure to signal processing, control systems, and networking
• Exposure to drivers for hardware interfaces such as PCIe, 1553, RS232, SPI, I2C, FPGAs, and other unique hardware
• Exposure to various operating systems including Linux, Unix, VxWorks, and Windows
• Knowledge of protocols such as IP, UDP, TCP, EtherCAT, CAN, RTPS/DDS

This position is only open to applicants who can be engaged on a W-2 basis.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*: $50-$53 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
