Job summary

Teledyne FLIR in Goleta, CA is seeking an embedded software engineer to design and develop software for infrared and sensing systems. You will participate in requirements reviews, design, coding, unit testing, system integration, and sustaining engineering across embedded platforms.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of embedded C experience, RTOS exposure, and familiarity with multi-core SoCs and imaging platforms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of embedded programming and board-level software development in C.
• Experience with embedded RTOS (e.g., embedded Linux, RTEMS) and multi-threaded software development.
• Expertise in developing multi-core embedded software.
• Experience in development on embedded SoCs is highly desirable.
• Experience with multi-core imaging and vision processing platforms (such as NVIDIA or Qualcomm).
• Ability to understand both hardware and software components of the embedded systems under development.
• Knowledge of I2C, SPI, and USB buses.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience designing, specifying, and implementing low-latency protocols and interfaces between peripherals and devices.
• Ability to set up embedded toolchains, build and debugging environments, and use debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Experience with infrared technologies, image acquisition, and image processing is desirable.
• Experience using AI tools in software development workflows is valuable.

Job Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with embedded programming and board-level software development in C (or equivalent)
• Experience with embedded RTOS (e.g., embedded Linux, RTEMS, etc.) and multi-threaded software development
• Expertise in developing multi-core embedded software is highly desirable
• Experience in development on embedded SoCs is highly desirable
• Experience with multi-core imaging and vision processing platforms (such as NVIDIA or Qualcomm) is highly desirable but not required
• Ability to understand both the hardware and software components of the embedded systems under development
• Knowledge of hardware subsystems and common peripheral buses including I2C, SPI, and USB is desired
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

• Ability to set up various embedded toolchains, build and debugging environments, and use debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and similar equipment

Education

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and directly related professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Additional Requirements

• Applicants must be U.S. citizen or PERM Resident.

Salary Range: $90,800.00-$121,100.000
