Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking engineers to design and develop calibration and test software for infrared sensing systems. You will participate in all phases from requirements to sustaining engineering while supporting production software.

The role emphasizes embedded multi-threaded software, hardware-software integration, and experience with C/C++ in an AI-assisted development environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with C, C#, and/or C++ programming.
  • Experience in Visual Studio development is highly desired.
  • Experience programming in an SQL Server environment is highly desired.
  • Experience testing equipment in thermal chambers is highly desired.
  • Understanding of embedded, multi-threaded software design (Embedded Linux, RTEMS) is helpful.
  • Ability to understand both hardware and software components of embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of I2C, SPI, and USB buses.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to set up tool chains and debugging environments with oscilloscopes/logic analyzers.

Job Description

Software design and development of calibration and test software for our infrared sensing systems.

Also responsible for the development of production support software and systems.

Participation in every phase of a project, including requirements review, software design and coding, unit testing, system integration, and sustaining engineering.

Job Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with C, C#, and/or C++ programming
  • Experience developing in Visual Studio is highly desired
  • Experience programming in an SQL Server environment is highly desired
  • Experience testing equipment in thermal chambers is highly desired
  • Understanding of embedded, multi-threaded software design and implementation is very helpful (e.g., Embedded Linux, RTEMS, etc.)
  • Ability to understand both the hardware and software components of embedded systems under test
  • Knowledge of hardware subsystems and common peripheral buses, including I2C, SPI, and USB
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to set up tool chains, build and debugging environments, and utilize debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and similar equipment is highly desirable
  • Experience with infrared and/or visible imaging technologies, image acquisition, and image processing is desired but not required
  • Experience testing high-volume products is helpful
  • Ability to design software in a manner that reduces test time is highly desired
  • Experience using AI tools for software development in a commercial product environment is required
Education and Experience

BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of some or all of the educational requirements

Salary Range

Salary Range: $90,800.00-$121,100.000 The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
