Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking an embedded software engineer to design and develop software for infrared and sensing systems, participating in requirements reviews, software design and coding, unit testing and system integration.

You will contribute across the full life cycle from requirements to sustaining engineering, collaborating with hardware teams to optimize latency and reliability in demanding environments.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of embedded programming experience in C or equivalent.
  • Experience with embedded RTOS environments (embedded Linux, RTEMS, etc.).
  • Multi-core embedded software development experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with embedded SoCs is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to multi-core imaging/vision platforms (NVIDIA/Qualcomm) is desirable but not required.
  • Ability to understand hardware and software components of embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of I2C, SPI, and USB buses is desired.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience designing low-latency interfaces between peripherals and devices.
  • Experience with infrared technologies, image acquisition or processing is highly desirable.

Job Summary

Software design and development of embedded software for infrared and sensing systems. Participation in every phase of a project, including requirements review, software design and coding, unit testing, system integration, and sustaining engineering.

Job Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with embedded programming and board-level software development in C (or equivalent)
  • Experience with embedded RTOS (e.g., embedded Linux, RTEMS, etc.) and multi-threaded software development
  • Expertise in developing multi-core embedded software is highly desirable
  • Experience in development on embedded SoCs is highly desirable
  • Experience with multi-core imaging and vision processing platforms (such as NVIDIA or Qualcomm) is highly desirable but not required
  • Ability to understand both the hardware and software components of the embedded systems under development
  • Knowledge of hardware subsystems and common peripheral buses including I2C, SPI, and USB is desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Experience designing, specifying, and implementing low-latency protocols and interfaces between peripherals and devices.
  • Teledyne FLIR software operates under rigorous constraints related to latency and frame loss.
  • Ability to set up various embedded toolchains, build and debugging environments, and use debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and similar equipment
  • Experience with infrared technologies, image acquisition, and image processing is highly desired but not required
  • Experience using AI tools in software development workflows is valuable and desired
  • Education BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and directly related professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Additional Requirements
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizen or PERM Resident.

Salary Range: $90,800.00-$121,100.000. The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
