Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Rochester, NY to join our Sigma software platform development. The role focuses on building and enhancing secure real-time communications applications, primarily in C++, within an Agile environment. A Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related experience are required.

You will design, implement, and test components for VoIP and RoIP, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to a robust software framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in software/CS.
• Minimum two years related experience.
• Proficient in C++, including modern features and libraries.
• Understanding of OOD and architecture.
• Experience with FreeBSD/Linux/Unix.
• Familiarity with IP/Networking.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, design patterns, algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop and support applications for secure real-time communications.
• Design and implement VoIP/RoIP applications within timelines.
• Work primarily in C++, with other languages as needed.
• Collaborate with customer support to address issues.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum and CI practices.
• Contribute new ideas to the development framework.
