Path Robotics in Columbus, OH is building an elite perception team and seeks a Perception Engineer to own the vision and control loop in real time on embedded hardware.

You will work on the end-to-end perception pipeline, ensure robustness, measure latency, and defend design choices with data. The role emphasizes production C++ and ROS2 and the ability to operate under strict per-frame budgets.

Qualifications

• Close a real-time loop on camera data captured on real hardware.
• Deep knowledge of classical vision and 3-D geometry, including calibration and error propagation.
• Experience with real-time segmentation or feature extraction on degraded imagery.

Responsibilities

• Own the real-time perception pipeline from sensing to the output used by other control loops.
• Ensure robustness when signals are degraded and handle adversarial inputs.
• Quantify measurement accuracy and clearly report uncertainties.
• Evaluate sensing options, run experiments, and defend choices with data.
• Set technical direction toward learned perception methods.
