IS4S in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software Engineer to develop embedded software for assured PNT systems on-site in Auburn or Huntsville. You will work across the development lifecycle, implementing navigation algorithms, sensor interfaces, and platform integration using modern C++ on Linux.

The role emphasizes reliable, maintainable software with rigorous testing, debugging, and performance optimization, supported by Git, CI/CD, and collaborative engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong modern C++ programming skills and Linux development experience.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented software.
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software components for assured PNT systems using modern C++.
• Implement and support navigation algorithms that process data from inertial sensors, GPS/GNSS receivers, clocks, and other navigation sources.
• Develop and maintain software interfaces to sensors, embedded hardware, and host platforms.
• Integrate software components with navigation hardware and platform systems, troubleshooting hardware/software interface issues.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests to verify software functionality and performance.
• Analyze test results, investigate defects, and support debugging and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and navigation engineers to develop, integrate, and demonstrate assured PNT capabilities.
