Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to advance the SDN dataplane stack powering EC2 Nitro networking. You will design, implement, and test performance improvements for ML workloads and other high-scale applications within EC2 Nitro.

Join a team that collaborates across engineering, product, and cross-functional groups to deliver secure, scalable networking at cloud scale. Experience in embedded development and knowledge of system performance is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, scoping, implementation, and integration testing of performance optimizations and dataplane features that run on the EC2 Nitro System.
• Set high standards for development processes, tools, and automation to enhance team productivity and quality.
• Influence best engineering practices on design and coding.
• Identify business problems and opportunities, and advocate for technical solutions that influence the roadmap.
• Mentor junior engineers with scoping, design, and developing scalable and maintainable code.
• Collaborate with Senior/Principal Engineers, Product Managers, Sr TPMs, and cross-functional teams to define requirements, system architectures, and implement robust and scalable solutions.
