Job summary

Viasat is seeking a skilled engineer to design and implement management applications for configuring, updating, and monitoring FPGA-based hardware systems in a global NTN RAN environment.

You will work with O-RAN RU integration, CI/CD automation, and cross-functional teams to support production networks and lab environments. Office-based with 60%+ in-office workweek, and on-call duties are included.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience with 3GPP and NTN technology.
• Experience in network programming and embedded environments.
• Experience with O-RAN based RU integration (C/U/S/M-planes).
• Proficiency with NetConf, YANG.
• Experience integrating multi-vendor software (including Open source).
• Used technologies include Docker, Kubernetes, Golang, Python, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement management applications for configuring/updating/monitoring hardware systems.
• Use experience in O-RAN based RU M-plane development.
• Maintain and automate CI/CD pipelines for build/testing/deployments.
• Weekly on-call shift (12 hours) to support production and lab environments.
• Update and maintain existing production applications and networks.
