Job summary

KRUSH Tech in Austin, Texas, is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to design, develop, and validate embedded Linux software for SBC platforms. You will work across kernel-space and user-space, drive hardware-software integration, and own critical software components from prototype to production.

Qualifications

• BS/BE in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CS or a related field.
• 4+ years of embedded software engineering experience.
• Strong experience in embedded software architecture, module design, and system-level software development.
• Advanced expertise in Embedded Linux (kernel-space and user-space).
• Proven experience developing high-performance, low-level drivers and system services.
• Experience with Ethernet, USB, and CAN protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design software architectures for SBC platforms, defining components, interfaces, and communication protocols.
• Develop low-level drivers, system services, security mechanisms, and update frameworks for embedded Linux.
• Implement hardware-software integration with FPGAs and external controllers.
• Develop and integrate communication stacks (Ethernet, USB, CAN) for reliable system communication.
• Optimize boot processes, resource use, performance, and stability across SBCs.
• Lead technical activities, code reviews, and ensure code quality.
• Evaluate software/hardware platform architectures and configurations.
• Investigate hardware-software interaction issues including signal integrity and bus conflicts.
• Define hardware platform test scenarios, debugging, and validation support.
• Prepare and maintain production releases with documentation and testing.
• Share expertise through mentoring and guidance.
