Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design, implement, and maintain software for aviation-grade hardware. You will contribute across the full SDLC and work on features for networking, OTA updates, and observability.

The role requires strong C/C++ and Python skills, with experience in Linux, virtualization, and cross-device integration. You will collaborate with architects, QA, and security teams to ensure robust, production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years designing or enhancing software systems.
• Experience across the full SDLC.
• Proficiency in at least one language: C++, C, Python, Java, etc.
• Must have ONE of the following: Embedded software development (C/C++), Platform/system software development (OS to application stack), Network configuration and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software running on embedded Linux-based aircraft hardware.
• Build features for network management, connectivity monitoring, OTA updates, and observability.
• Develop production-quality software using C/C++, Python, or similar languages.
• Integrate software across hardware platforms using abstraction layers.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
• Work closely with architects, QA, networking, and security teams.
