Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design, implement, and maintain software for aviation-grade hardware. You will contribute across the full SDLC and work on features for networking, OTA updates, and observability.

The role requires strong C/C++ and Python skills, with experience in Linux, virtualization, and cross-device integration. You will collaborate with architects, QA, and security teams to ensure robust, production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years designing or enhancing software systems.
• Experience across the full SDLC.
• Proficiency in at least one language: C++, C, Python, Java, etc.
• Must have ONE of the following: Embedded software development (C/C++), Platform/system software development (OS to application stack), Network configuration and troubleshooting.

• Embedded Linux development.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, QoS.
• Docker, Kubernetes, virtualization technologies.
• Python or Bash scripting.
• OTA software deployment and rollback mechanisms.
• Security concepts: secure boot, cryptography, threat modeling.
• Aerospace, avionics, or DO-178C exposure (nice to have).

• Comfortable implementing against predefined architectures.
• Aviation experience is a plus, not mandatory.
