Job summary

BioLite, based in Midvale, UT, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop firmware for Wi‑Fi/BLE connectivity and cloud integration (AWS IoT). You’ll work on ESP32-based modules, provisioning, OTA updates, and inter-module communication, collaborating with cloud and mobile teams. The role emphasizes refactoring, testing, and code quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or 5+ years of directly relevant experience.
• 3+ years writing production firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers or SoCs (ESP32, nRF, STM32, etc).
• Experience with a real-time operating system (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) and a wireless SDK (ESP-IDF, nRF Connect).
• Knowledge of Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth LE, and MQTT protocol.
• Experience with bootloaders, OTA updates, and device provisioning.
• Familiarity with serial protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN).
• Experience with unit tests, HIL/hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript for scripts.
• Git/GitHub, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with AI coding assistants in daily work.

Responsibilities

• Develop connectivity-module firmware for Wi‑Fi/BLE including provisioning and OTA updates.
• Refactor existing firmware, add tests, and enforce coding standards for safe changes.
• Build protocol libraries to connect subsystems and the mobile app.
• Maintain firmware build and release pipeline with CI/CD and OTA release traceability.
• Collaborate with cloud and mobile engineers on device APIs and fleet telemetry.
• Leverage AI tools to speed prototyping, debugging, and documentation.
• Participate in code/design reviews and document designs for teams.
