Job summary

HMS Networks is seeking a Hardware Engineering Co-op/Intern student to assist with the development, testing, and sustainment of embedded industrial automation products in York, PA.

As part of the engineering team, you will work on design validation, thermal/vibration/EMI testing, BOM creation in ERP, and schematic capture using Altium. This paid co-op offers hands-on learning in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program.
• Background in embedded hardware design using ARM or other microcontrollers.
• Good troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Knowledge with using support equipment such as Oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Ability to work with others in team environment.
• Experience with soldering electronic components.
• Must be open to learning new technologies and adapt quickly to dynamic environments.
• Possesses great communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Works in collaboration with the engineering team and operations in the design, validation, and sustainment of embedded hardware designs.
• Assist with thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC testing of products.
• Perform hardware Design validation testing of industrial automation products.
• Become familiar with ERP system to assist with BOM creation and drawing updates.
• Work with Altium CAD design tools to support component creation and schematic capture.
• Develops, tests, and documents processes necessary to support design verification.
• Carries out other duties as assigned as business needs require.
