Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) seeks an Embedded Flight Software Engineer to deliver real-time software for embedded flight control systems. You will be a hands-on developer, designing, implementing and documenting software across the full lifecycle in a collaborative, agile environment.

Requirements include a STEM bachelor's degree, proficiency in Python, C and C++, Linux experience, and familiarity with software configuration management (git).

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in STEM or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with Python, C and C++ programming with exposure to embedded programming and/or robotics.
• Exposure to Test Automation concepts.
• Experience with Object Oriented Design.
• Experience with Linux.
• Embraces lean-agile development and shared design philosophy.
• Understanding of Software Configuration Management practices and tools such as git.
• Embraces using AI-Assisted tooling in all aspects of development.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Act as a hands-on developer to deliver operational and enabling capabilities for embedded flight control systems.
• Design, develop and document software products.
• Design and develop using modern software principles and resolve complex technical problems.
• Develop across the full software lifecycle with requirements, design, implementation, and testing.
• Work with a highly collaborative, agile team following standards and processes.
• Engage with Product Owners, Architects, QA and automation teams on cross-functional activities.
