Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector seeks an Embedded Flight Software Engineer in Morrisville, NC. You will design, develop, integrate, and test software for a Space payload unit, primarily in C++, Linux, and Python, on an agile team.

Hybrid schedule may be available, with duties across the full software lifecycle. Qualifications include a STEM degree with embedded RTOS experience, strong C++ skills, and the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a STEM field with embedded real-time software experience.
• Experience in C++ object-oriented development and debugging in Linux environments.
• Knowledge of GCC, software configuration management tools, and integration.
• Ability to work on an agile team and contribute to design reviews.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret (SCI) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test software for a Space payload unit.
• Work on an agile team using C++, Linux, and Python as needed.
• Perform peer reviews and contribute to cross-functional scrum activities.
• Understand system requirements and implement/debug software to meet criteria.
• Support hardware integration and testing with engineers.
