Qualifications

• 4+ years of embedded firmware or controls engineering in a hands‑on, build‑oriented environment.
• Proficiency with modern embedded languages and toolchains for real-time, resource‑constrained systems.
• Experience with motion control—servo drives, encoder feedback, closed‑loop tuning.
• Familiarity with RTOS concepts and deterministic control architectures.
• Experience writing PLC logic in Structured Text (IEC 61131-3) or equivalents.
• Strong troubleshooting across firmware, controls, and hardware.
• Ability to generate professional controls documentation and diagrams.
• Effective collaboration in a distributed, async, remote‑first team.
• Adaptable and comfortable in a startup pace.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for custom electronics in industrial equipment.
• Design and implement motion control systems including tuning and trajectory planning.
• Write PLC control logic in Structured Text and integrate with electrical/mechanical systems.
• Operate within real-time environments ensuring deterministic machine control.
• Troubleshoot firmware and controls across hardware, software, and system boundaries.
• Document firmware, versioning practices, and architecture.
• Collaborate with build technicians and engineers to bring up and commission systems.
• Contribute to standards and documentation as the team scales.
