Job summary

Elkay is seeking an Embedded Firmware Internship in Milwaukee, WI. You will work with senior engineers on firmware development for microcontroller-based systems and participate in hardware bring-up, debugging, and system validation.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s in EE/CE/CS, with experience in RTOS concepts and wireless protocols (LoRa, BLE, Wi‑Fi). Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills are required.

Qualifications

Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science.
Experience with RTOS concepts.
Knowledge of wireless protocols (LoRa, BLE, Wi‑Fi).
Coursework/projects in embedded systems, IoT, or PCB design.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Assist in firmware development for microcontrollers (C/C++).
Support board bring-up and hardware/firmware integration testing.
Debug and resolve firmware issues under supervision.
Write and maintain test cases, scripts, and documentation for embedded systems.
Perform lab work, including using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.
Collaborate with hardware and software teams to implement new features and verify designs.
Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
