Job summary

Daktronics is offering a Hardware Design Co‑Op Intern position in Brookings, SD. You will be exposed to embedded design, debugging, and documentation as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The program runs May 2027 to December 2027, with mentorship and hands-on experience in electronics, software, and test methods. Applicants must be full‑time students, eligible to work in the U.S., and commit to 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Full-time students, at least junior standing, enrolled in a Bachelor’s program.
• Ability to take a semester off to complete the internship.
• Commit to 40 hours per week for a 7‑month internship.
• Strong academic performance; 3.0 GPA or higher preferred.
• Unofficial transcripts must be submitted with application.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot existing hardware and software designs.
• Assist in manual and automated testing of hardware and software.
• Prototype verification and measurements with test equipment.
• Create test reports and document procedures.
• Develop and support applications using Linux, C, C++, Python, and VHDL/Verilog.
