Job summary

Parker Hannifin in Livermore, CA is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer to write the firmware for electric motor controllers and inverters. You will own end-to-end subsystems from requirements to deployment in a hands-on team environment, collaborating with Parker sites globally.

Office-based four days per week is required. You will develop real-time embedded C/C++ for bare-metal and RTOS targets, work with CAN/SPI/I2C/UART interfaces, and contribute to software design, testing,

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of related embedded software experience.
• BS in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with microcontrollers in bare-metal/RTOS environments.
• Experience with CAN, SPI, I2C, or UART and hardware debugging.
• Experience with CI/CD and Git.

Responsibilities

• Write production-quality real-time embedded C/C++ for bare-metal and RTOS targets.
• Partner with motor control and hardware engineers to realize control algorithms.
• Debug HW/SW interaction from prototypes through customer returns.
• Participate in software design, code reviews, and project reviews.
• Design and run tests to verify software against requirements, including unit tests.
• Capture and decompose software requirements and maintain traceability using ALM tools.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and Python-based test automation using Git.
• Deliver project milestones in a timely manner and support WINovation.
