Job summary

Bray International is seeking a firmware engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of new embedded controls products and IoT solutions in Houston. You will sustain and improve existing valve control firmware, collaborate with hardware and software teams, and contribute to architecture decisions throughout the development lifecycle.

The role requires 2–4 years of embedded experience with C/C++, ARM Cortex-M MCUs, RTOS or bare‑metal environments, and strong debugging skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• 2–4 years of embedded firmware development experience.
• Strong C (primary) and familiarity with C++.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M and other MCUs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware for embedded systems.
• Integrate and debug board bring‑up with hardware teams.
• Develop real‑time embedded apps using C/C++ in bare‑metal or RTOS.
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot firmware with debugging tools.
• Refactor firmware for performance, power efficiency, and reliability.
• Participate in code/design reviews and document interfaces.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements and tests.
• Work with Git, CMake, and CI pipelines.
