Job summary

Karman seeks an Embedded Firmware Engineer to develop production-grade firmware for power grid edge computing platforms. You will collaborate with hardware, cloud, and AI teams to design and deploy embedded systems on resource-constrained microcontrollers, with hands-on hardware bring-up and testing.

The role involves extending CI/CD and diagnostic tooling, building logging and telemetry, and mentoring from senior engineers in a dynamic, NVIDIA-backed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 0-3 years embedded firmware experience including internships or coursework.
• Proficiency in C/C++ with RTOS or bare-metal on microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet or similar interfaces.
• Hands-on hardware experience and debugging with common tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy firmware across multiple hardware platforms.
• Assist with hardware bring-up and collaborate with hardware teams.
• Write and debug real-time embedded software in C/C++.
• Implement communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, LTE, WiFi).
• Uphold firmware standards, testing, and documentation requirements.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, HIL test infra, and release tooling with Python, Docker, GitHub Actions.
• Extend logging, telemetry, and diagnostic subsystems.
• Collaborate with contractors, cloud, AI/algorithms, and product teams.
