Job summary

GDI Infotech is supporting a defense technology client that develops mission-specific navigation and timing solutions. The position targets embedded firmware engineers with strong C/C++, Linux/RTOS, and GNSS or inertial navigation exposure, working on two related R&D efforts: M-REGI and Secure Start.

You will develop on a Microchip SAM9X60-based card, implement multi-hypothesis tracking, customize U-Boot/Buildroot/kernel for real-time operation (Yocto), and contribute to a lightweight CI/CD

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience developing embedded firmware in C/C++.
• Experience with embedded Linux, kernel/buildroot customization and RTOS concepts (Yocto a plus).
• Familiarity with serial, USB, and TCP/IP interfaces on embedded platforms.
• Ability to implement firmware from block diagrams and MATLAB scripts.
• Comfort in a fast-moving R&D environment with evolving requirements.
• U.S. Citizenship required; NOFORN handling requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware for a Microchip SAM9X60 ARM processor.
• Implement Multi-Hypothesis Tracking logic for navigation solutions.
• Build a proof-of-concept Secure Start timing/ephemeris delivery system.
